Wikis and BlogsDuring this professional development session, teachers will receive hands-on training on the power of using Wikis and Blogs in their classrooms. The participants will actually help create part of this session using a Wiki.

iPods are not just for music...learn the many ways that these personal devices can engage student learning, even beyond the classroom wall. Learn integration, management, and trouble-shooting tips.

 

Podcasting in the 21st Century Classroom

Learn how podcasting can be integrated into your curriculum by all grade levels and in all curriculum areas. Participants will get hands-on training and an opportunity to create their own podcast.

 

 

Recognizing Effective Technology Integration

What does successful technology integration look like? How can teachers and administrators know if it is truly happening in their classrooms and buildings. Participants in this session will walk away with a true understanding based on current research and examples.

 

 

Teaching in a Project-Based Classroom

In this hands-on session, participants will learn how positive change can be attained in the classroom that results in improved student achievement through the use of project-based learning. Teachers will learn how to combine best practices with technology to create classroom projects that support project-based learning as well as engage students meet curriculum standards.

 

 

 The Collaborative Classroom

This powerful session will help participants take their classroom projects to the next level. Through the use of telecollaboration projects, students and teachers can truly reach outside the boundaries of the classroom walls. 

Teachers will see how:

Students can electronically participate in multiple activities along with students form around the world and with out leaving the confines or their classrooms.

 

Telecolaboration increases student engagement in students who have been reluctant learners in the past.

Digital Storytelling

Participants will learn how to create a digital story using video editing software. They will illustrated with still images, digital video, narration and an audio track. Participants will understand principles of Digital Storytelling and how this process can be used with students in the classroom. Participants will also create a storyboard and also a rubric for evaluating their digital stories.

 

 

 

The Death of the Chalkboard

Participants will receive hands-on training on the SMART Board, SMART Board Airliner, Interwrite SchoolBoard & SchoolPad, CPS Chalkboard hardware and software. During this session, participants will also learn how to integrate these tools across the curriculum and create exciting lessons and activities.

 

 

Power Tools for the Classroom

Learn creative ways to integrate Microsoft Office into the classroom. With this hands-on training, teachers will walk away with ideas and lessons that can be used the next day.
